Welcome to BodyMindSpiritYoga.com! Our site was designed to delve into the practice of yoga on many different levels- From the physical to the mind and beyond, from yoga mats to yoga benefits and more.

There are many different styles of yoga (Hatha, Bikram, Power, etc.) and many different teachers within these styles. In addition to this, each student has his or her own intentions with the practice. With these different focuses, different advantages may arise.

Here are a few examples of the many benefits possible, arranged by the realm to which they apply:

• Mind – People commonly take up yoga because it allows them to focus their thoughts more clearly. As thoughts are focused, it becomes easier to prioritize things to be done at home, school or work. Yoga music can often be helpful in allowing people to focus their thoughts. Its slow, rhythmic beats allow the mind to focus on the task at hand and not wander.

Breathing is another emphasis which facilitates increased cognitive skills as the brain mind needs oxygen to function at its top level. Yoga DVDs teach aspiring yogis how to breathe properly. The breathing techniques learned are not simply meant for training times. Ideally, they would be practiced every moment of our daily lives.

• Body – In order for a person’s body to experience all of the advantages of a practice, it is important to have the proper yoga equipment, yoga apparel, yoga supplies and yoga accessories. Some styles – like power yoga – are designed to provide an intense physical workout. However, this is not the norm. Typically, focus is placed upon improving flexibility and agility more than strength.

• Spirit – Even those who may not consider themselves to be especially spiritual often find that doing yoga increases their spirituality. Some believe that because they receive their minds and bodies from a Higher Source, it is beneficial to focus on these things when doing yoga. The calmness of these practices also encourage a sense of oneness with all people, regardless of beliefs. Even though it can be difficult for some people to do correctly do yoga at first, they can get the boost they need to their minds, bodies and spirits by acquiring yoga kits. These kits allow them to have a better understanding of the things they need to use to improve their capacity to properly do yoga.

Because yoga is meant to be practiced for a long span of time, it is quite common for it to provide different advantages during different time periods within a practitioner's lifetime.
