Yoga mats FAQs

How often should I do yoga?

Because doing yoga is definitely a low impact exercise, it is not harmful to you to do this 5-6 times a week. In fact, it may actually be a good idea to do it this often. It is especially important to set a schedule and keep up with this schedule throughout the course of a week. By not doing so, your life becomes imbalanced and the yoga does not work the way it needs to. The important thing to do if you want to practice yoga on a regular basis is set a schedule for yourself and stick to it.

Is yoga expensive?

Can yoga be expensive? Yes. Does it need to be expensive? Absolutely not. The truth is that there are all kinds of different accessories that can be purchased by people who want to do yoga. Some of these items are nice and convenient to have while there are others that are not really all that important at all. But, the truth is that if all you have is a quiet place and a desire to relax, you have all that you need for yoga. Of course the other items can help in many ways, but that is not to say that they are absolutely necessary.

How can I learn how to do yoga?

Basically, yoga is best learned through the practice of observation. If you are able to observe how somebody else practices yoga, you will get a better idea of how to do it yourself. Some people take yoga classes and actually have an instructor in front of them teaching them positions and techniques. There are others who do not have classes, but instead just watch instructional DVDs that teach them many of the same things. Some people prefer to read illustrated books to learn more about yoga breathing and stretches and why they are important.
